Moderate Acute Malnutrition

It occurs as a result of recent shocks to a child’s nutritional status, which can be due to food shortages, a recent bout of illness, inappropriate child-caring or a combination of various such factors. If it goes untreated, it can lead to severe acute malnutrition.

VALID Nutrition has developed a Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food (RUSF), also called Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement - Large Quantity or LNS-LQ, to treat moderate acute malnutrition in children over 6 months and adults.

Note: breastfeeding is recommended until at least 24 months (exclusive up to 6 months). All VALID Nutrition products are only for children > 6 months and do not replace breastfeeding.
