Chronic Malnutrition

Chronic Malnutrition

This is a condition that develops when children do not eat the correct
balance of nutrients in the first 1,000 days of life (from conception to the age of two), resulting in the stunting of their mental and physical development. Stunted children’s immune defences are impaired, putting them at greater risk of common acute infections such as diarrhoea, measles, malaria and pneumonia.

VALID Nutrition has developed a Ready-to-Use Complementary Food (RUCF) / LNS-Small Quantity (LNS-SQ) to prevent chronic malnutrition in children over 6 months to 24 months.”

Note: breastfeeding is recommended until at least 24 months (exclusive up to 6 months). All VALID Nutrition products are only for children > 6 months and do not replace breastfeeding.
